Importance of mental health
What is mental health?
Mental health refers to a state of emotional, psychological, and social well-being in which an individual is able to cope with the normal stresses of life, work productively, and contribute to their community. It encompasses a range of factors that influence a person's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, including their ability to manage emotions, handle stress, maintain relationships, and make choices that enhance their overall well-being.
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines mental health as "a state of well-being in which an individual realizes their own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively, and is able to make a contribution to their community." This definition emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, resilience, and social engagement in maintaining good mental health.
